To that end, I downloaded the <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us&amp;lang=en&amp;prod=ds620_all\">manufacturer's drivers </a> as rpm, extracted via <em>rpmextract.sh</em> and copied the driver files to the respective root directories (etc, lib, usr). Thereafter, I installed sane 1.0.24.
